I accepted use of magic to lift cyclopean stones for an arch spanning hundreds of paces. Dunno why magic spray paint for graffiti artists working in the sewers should move my brain sideways.
Why do you think graffiti are made with magic? I think it just a light that wizards are carrying with them, reflecting from normal graffiti.
It would be interesting world in which everyone can use magic. Than you would have homeless people and street urchins, basically everyone using magic. But as everyone would poses this gift the society would be still the same (as always when there are people involved nothing ever really changes) there would still be people on top and far below. So it would be interesting to see how such world would function.
I’m not sure I understand what you mean, Catapult… But as Little rat correctly assumed, the wall drawings have nothing to do with magic. I’m not sure why it would come across as magical spray paint, but if you care to explain, I can try to avoid creating confusion in the future. A lot of things in the comic are somehow related to magic, as they are with most high fantasies, but most are not, sewer graffiti in the least. They’re just supposed to be a product of some charcoal, chalk and a rainy day. Though I agree with Leaf, a world where everyone has magical abilities would make for a very interesting setting The purpose of the wall drawings and this whole page, is to create an ambiance and to establish where and when the story picks up again. If you recall, the same kind of drawings are on page 17. After all, this is a graphic novel right?
If anyone has ever any questions about this stuff, just ask and we’ll answer them as best we can, without spoiling anything, the next time we log in. That’s why we have the comment section
Not sure if I perceive it all correctly, but I feel like suggesting not to take every comment too seriously :3
Good point. But we aren’t always sure either:)
What’s magical is that the graffiti are individual and pristine, not overwriting each other and flaking off as soon as the pigment has dried because the surface was not cleaned beforehand. Not to mention, until the1700’s in the real world, and artist had to grind and mix all his own paints – or at least have an apprentice to do it. The white and black would be relatively easy, but the blue would cost money or at require secure work space and large amounts of free time.
You do realize that this is not the real world, though, don’t you? So, what is your point, that the graffiti looks too new, too unblemished? Also, what makes you think that this is graffiti in our modern, real-world sense? Perhaps they have rules against painting over each others’ pictures. Same goes for the colors, they do not have to have the same difficulties in getting them as it used to be in our world.
Allow the authors to tell their story and unfurl their world before criticizing them on every aspect.
Thank you Lleyn, for a voice of reason, but at the end of the day, as with everything related to art, everyone can interpret things as the wish. I don’t want to force anything on anyone. So Catapult, if the graffiti looks magical to you, it can be, just for you (As well as all the perfect teeth, smooth legs, bare armpits, instant steaks, nonflammable fabric, inconsistent lightning and all the grammar mistakes in an otherwise perfect, modern english, spoken by lower class people in medieval-esque times :D)
hey I just found this graphic novel today and so far the artistry is very good and the story right along with it. cant wait to see more.
Welcome, and thank you:)
Wow. Just found this too, and just wow. Also you really shouldn’t. Destruction of public property, disorderly conduct, and there are noise ordinances.
Yep… Adepts are a rowdy bunch:P
I just found this as well…I look forward to finding out why he blew up his meal…
I am pretty sure he didn’t blow up his food. Somebody else probably did this to him and now he’s probably going to extract some revenge on the steak killer.
He would never blow up his one true love
Love the graffiti! I think it really adds to te mood! Keep up the good job!
Thanks, will do!
Just found this too. Topwebcomic random voting gateway works wonders in finding new webcomics.
I generally don’t like settings in which wizards think they are above everyone else, since i have a different idea of wizards – someone who guides people to their destiny, like Gandalf, if I can make a overmade reference. Anyway, art’s really good, and magic’s one of the themes, so count me in xD
Thanks! And don’t let a few douchebag mages ruin your view on them as a whole
Over Aeon updates twice a week<– Its been nearly a week with no update.
It’s been less than four days… And the next page just went public…
Don’t mind him. He is using old Russian five days calendar.
Damn, waking up and figuring out if you have to go to work today had to be confusing
The poor shall be ever with us, eh Leaf?
Unfortunately that is human nature. Some would argue that this is law of the jungle and it is always present with all life forms, but one can hope that humans as dominant species on this planet would eventually evolve past this.
My hopes are not high about this.
